Banarasi is the finest quality fabric made in Varanasi, an ancient city which is also called Benaras(Banaras). The fabric is known for its gold and silver brocase or zari, fine silk, lustrous and opulent embroidery. The saris are made of finely hand woven silk and are decorated with intricate design because of these engravings they are relatively heavy. They adorn all festivals and ocaasions.
